The business is owned by a stepmother, stepdaughter, and a cousin by marriage—three women who have chosen to move beyond the labels of “step” and “in-law” to become true family and business partners. “We are family by choice, not just by name,” adds Wattenmaker. “This ‘not-so-traditional’ family bond helps us appreciate that ‘home’ and memory-making are defined by the people you share it with.”
