Jillian Daniel knows there’s no such thing as a bad dog. At Poseidon K9, she and her team of expert canine trainers help transform challenging behaviors like excessive barking, destructive chewing, or leash pulling into calm, confident habits. The result? Happier dogs, more relaxed owners, and walks where you’re finally the one in charge of the leash.
Daniel always knew she’d work with animals. After a post-college career as a marine biologist that took her around the world, including time spent aboard a commercial fishing vessel in the Bering Sea, she returned to land in 2014 to pursue her passion for working dogs. Training at some of the most elite programs in the country, Daniel cut her teeth with extreme cases, first preparing dogs for battlefield environments and later helping them transition safely and successfully back home.
That experience means your dog is in caring, capable, and confident hands, exactly where they need to be.
Poseidon K9 (a nod to Daniel’s oceanic roots) offers a range of programs designed to support dogs of every age, background, and temperament. Puppy training helps new additions learn the rules of their world before unwanted habits take hold, while one-on-one private sessions allow owners and dogs to work through challenges together.
The most popular offerings, however, are Poseidon K9’s board-and-train programs. These immersive, multi-week experiences allow owners to leave their dog with Daniel or one of her experienced trainers for specialized training tailored to each dog’s needs. Each program is limited to just two dogs at a time and includes foundational obedience, desensitization walks to build confidence in real-world settings, a comprehensive “train-the-owner” session before heading home, and follow-up check-ins to ensure lasting success.
Why the extra time and care? “Our mission is to help people and their dogs learn to communicate better to build confidence and an engaging, lasting relationship,” says Daniel. “The hardest part of my job is training the owner. The dogs are much better students.”
At the end of every session, Daniel doesn’t say goodbye. Instead, she offers a simple send-off: Make good choices. It’s advice that applies just as well to humans as it does to their four-legged companions.
Whether you’re dealing with a barker, a chewer, or something more serious, Poseidon K9 is ready to help. Jillian Daniel and her team are committed to bringing out the best in every dog and the people who love them.
