Fall Workshop Series: Fire Cider and Other Herbal Remedies
November 13 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Boost your winter wellness naturally at Middleton Place with a hands-on Fire Cider and Other Herbal Remedies Workshop. Guiding the evening is Casey Price of Jeremiah Farm and Goat Dairy, a John’s Island farmer and educator who has mastered the art of growing and using herbs and vegetables to create simple, natural remedies. Casey will demonstrate how to make fire cider, a traditional tangy tonic of apple cider vinegar, herbs, and spices that has long been a staple in winter kitchens. You’ll also explore other easy-to-make herbal preparations that bring flavor, comfort, and warmth to the cooler months.
For centuries, herbs grown in kitchen gardens at Middleton Place and across the Lowcountry were essential for food, flavor, and household remedies. Families turned to plants such as garlic, ginger, and peppers, many with African and European roots, for their practicality and everyday use. This workshop continues that tradition of turning to the land for nourishment and care.
The evening will be complemented with wine, charcuterie and lively conversation, and each participant will leave with recipes, take-home remedies and new knowledge to carry into the season
