Ask any local where to eat in Park Circle, and one restaurant inevitably makes it to the top of the list: EVO. Mmm. Just the name gets our taste buds excited. Great pizza, salads, cocktails, and even an incredible pastry shop. EVO is an icon.
EVO stands for Extra Virgin Oven, a quirky little play on words that piques your interest before you ever set foot in the cozy restaurant. With plenty of outdoor seating, you can watch passersby on Park Circle’s main drag, where there’s always something fun to see. And the food…y’all. We can’t recommend EVO enough.
It’s no surprise that EVO is so delicious. The team focuses on locally sourced ingredients, going so far as to prominently list on its website the farms it works with regularly, along with careful craftsmanship in every dish and drink. But again: no surprise. Owners Matt McIntosh and Ricky Hacker cut their culinary teeth at places like McCrady’s and FIG (IYKYK), so you can be sure every flavor combination has been thoughtfully curated for maximum pleasure.
We at Fig Magazine highly recommend the Pork Trifecta—sausage, pepperoni, and bacon—for the carnivores in the room. For vegetarians or the veg-curious, we’re equally enamored with the Pistachio Pesto, which is somehow even more delicious than it sounds. There are salads and sandwiches, too, and while we tend to rely on our favorites every time we visit, it’s always fun to
try something new.
Of course, if you want to be truly decadent at breakfast, the EVO Bakery is exactly where you need to be. Located behind the restaurant beneath a sweet little awning that feels both Old World and welcoming, you’ll find cookies and Danish, muffins, and sweet treats for every occasion. It’s a child’s paradise—and a wonderland for the child in all of us.
It feels like EVO has been around forever, or at least since Park Circle became the vibrant, quirky, welcoming community it is today. But trust us: in this case, longevity hasn’t diminished EVO’s shine one bit. It’s reliably delicious, always fun, and forever funky.
