Nestled in Mount Pleasant’s historic Old Village is a gateway back to 1937; the year Pitt Street Pharmacy was born. Founded by Washington “Wattie” Zeigler, this pharmacy has been serving Charleston from 111 Pitt Street for almost ninety years.

Aside from its longevity, what makes this place unique? Well, for one, they’re a compounding-only pharmacy, meaning they make practically every medicinal item they sell in-house. The advantage of this? Customization. Whether a specific dosage, a special combination, a life-threatening allergy, or a kid who is very picky about taste, Pitt Street can handle it all. While their entire staff is experienced, thanks specifically to the “Hormone Lady” Rosalyn Adams, this pharmacy boasts expert endocrine care.

Do you have a furry friend in need of some meds? With the freedom that compounding brings, Pitt Street Pharmacy is equipped to provide for every member of the household, including your pets. Whether it’s rashes from the summer heat, eye and ear infections from who knows where, heart conditions, or even anxiety, your companions are cared for at Pitt Street Pharmacy.

Plus, they feed you, too. With an old-fashioned soda fountain serving anything from a traditional chocolate milkshake to “Mount Pleasant’s best grilled cheese,” the options are plentiful and delicious. And whatever you do, don’t miss their classic candy counter!

While you’re there, you might as well get your shopping done too. With their Sundry Shop carrying all the essentials, local products, books, puzzles, and even some Charleston souvenirs, they truly have you covered.

This is a place that cares for their community. Be it medicine delivery right to your front door, personal conversations with their pharmacists, a treatment made just for you, and even a sandwich made with love, Pitt Street Pharmacy is an oasis all year long, a refreshingly sweet treat in the Charleston scene.
