Listen. We at Fig Magazine are suckers for beautiful flowers. Nothing’s going to stop us in our farmers’ market tracks faster than a flower cart full of pinks, purples, and greens, all trailing together like a field of wildflowers, maybe even held together with some leather and tucked into a mason jar…but we digress.
Obviously, when we walked into Roadside Blooms for the first time, we were absolute goners. This team of creative thinkers and designers operates a “magical plant, flower, and rock shop” (their words, not ours), where they infuse artistry and authenticity into every arrangement they create. They’re led by nature and deeply rooted in sustainability, inclusivity, and community. Honestly, three of our favorite words.
At their store in the Mixson neighborhood of North Charleston, you can pick out an arrangement to have delivered to your sweetie pie on their special day. Please note: you can do the same on their website, browsing dreamy bouquets and gift sets from the comfort of your home or office (great for when you forgot to plan ahead), but we fully endorse shopping in person. There’s just something special about being able to see, touch, and especially smell. Plus, you never know what you’ll find tucked away in a corner of the shop that you didn’t even know you needed.
If you have a special event coming up, Roadside Blooms wants to be your florist. Especially if it’s a wedding. Everybody loves a good wedding, and Roadside Blooms definitely believes love is love is love. They celebrate all marriages and are proud to be an LGBTQ+ ally. They’ll design your event from top to bottom, no matter the size or season. In fact, they get especially excited to honor your event and its season, weaving locally sourced details into every design. Your event will feel uniquely yours while still feeling distinctly of the Lowcountry, and you can rest easy knowing you’re in the hands of such a talented group of designers and makers.
